2022 Gig Harbor Little League Registration Information and Eligibility Requirements

** Please read the following information before proceeding to online registration **

1. AGE VERIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Gig Harbor Little League provides programs for players “League Age” 4 to 16. You can determine your child's league age by clicking this link -  League Age Calculator. Once you have determined what age group your child falls into, you will need to make sure you have an original birth certificate to show proof of your child’s age. You will be required to upload a copy of your player's birth certificate during the registration process, and will not be able to proceed with registration until you have done so, so please make sure you have your players birth certificate before beginning the registration process. It must be a clearly legible document. ***NOTE - if you are a returning player, you should not have to upload a copy of your child's birth certificate as you had already done so as part of the registration previously.***

2. RESIDENCY AND SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 
Confirm that your player meets the Residency or School Attendance Eligibility requirements - players will be eligible to play with GHLL only if you reside or attend a school within the GHLL boundaries.

• SCHOOL ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
  

If you do not reside within our league boundaries, but your player attends one of the following schools, you are eligible to play in GHLL: 

• Artondale Elementary School
• Discovery Elementary School
• Harbor Heights Elementary School
• Pioneer Elementary School
• Purdy Elementary School 
• Voyager Elementary School
  
• Swift Water Elementary School
• Goodman Middle School
• Harbor Ridge Middle School 
• Kopachuck Middle School
• Gig Harbor High School 
• Peninsula High School
• Gig Harbor Academy
• Harbor Christian School
• Harbor Montessori School
• Hosana Christian School
• Lighthouse Christian School
• St. Nicholas Catholic School

Players and their parents/guardians are advised that a false statement of age, residence or school attendance may lead to ineligibility to play Little League Baseball or Softball.

3. Once you have completed these steps, you can now proceed to Online Registration. Note: You will only be able to register your player in the division for which they are League Age eligible. 

*If your player does not meet the Little League residency or School Attendance requirements but you feel your player may be eligible with a waiver, before proceeding to online registration please contact:

NOTE: Registration for the Majors Baseball and Softball Divisions is only open to League Age 12 years olds; however, all League Age 10 and 11 year olds who attend Evaluations are eligible to play in the Majors division and may be drafted to a Majors team.

4. Because of the size of our league, GHLL has been split into two separate leagues - Gig Harbor American Little League (GHLL American) and Gig Harbor National Little League (GHLL National), operated under one Board of Directors. Both past and new players entering the league, in ALL divisions, will be placed in the respective League for the remaining duration of his or her GHLL career, as outlined below: 

• All players entering or returning to the league whose day of birth is an odd number will be designated as a National League player and be eligible for draft to a National League team only.
• All players entering or returning to the league whose day of birth is an even number will be designated as an American League player and be eligible for draft to an American League team only

Due to this, and Little League Rules regarding the operation of our league and our draft process, for our Baseball and Softball programs, we cannot accommodate any teammate, carpool or scheduling conflict requests, nor can we switch players to another team once the teams have been drafted. 
Our Tee Ball division is the only division in which we accommodate teammate requests if possible.

LATE REGISTRATION FEES

Any registration after January 31st, 2022 will be assessed a $25 late fee. 
This fee is necessary to manage the equipment and other team associated costs related to registering late that the league has historically absorbed.  
NOTE: ALL LATE FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. 

2022 REFUND POLICY

Once games have started, there will be no refunds of registration fees without GHLL Board approval. 

Any registrations canceled prior to the start of the season will have the registration fees 
returned minus 10% for operational costs. 

SCHOLARSHIPS
Gig Harbor Little League believes every child should have the opportunity to play Little League. Thanks to generous donations from our GHLL sponsors, we are able to grant scholarships for our registrations fees on a first come, first served basis.
