Softball Pitch Count & Rest Requirement Rules

Pitching Rules – Softball

All GHLL Softball Teams will follow the pitching rules in our GHLL Local Rules. These rules are more restrictive pitching rules than the Little League Softball pitching rules found in the Little League Rulebook.

Note: If GHLL teams are participating in interleague play, you must follow the Pitching Rules found in the Washington District 2 Interleague Playing Rules.

GHLL Local Rules Pitching Limitations:

Minor League (Coach Pitch - A, Coach/Player Pitch - AA and Player Pitch - AAA):

1. Twelve (12) year olds may not pitch in this division.
2. Individual pitchers are limited to a maximum of four innings per game.
3. Delivery of a single pitch constitutes having pitched in an inning.
4. One calendar day of rest is required prior to pitching again on another day.
5. A player may pitch in a maximum of six (6) innings in a calendar week (Sunday through Saturday).

LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL DAY OF REST EXAMPLE:
If a player pitched in a game on (Column A), that player can pitch again on (Column B):

Major League:

    2. A player may pitch in a maximum of six (6) innings per day.
