GHLL Player Evaluations - Saturday February 10th - Rain or Shine!

 

2024 GHLL Player Evaluation Information


Date: Saturday February 10th, 2024

Player Evaluations for our Baseball and Softball Coach/Player Pitch(AA), Player Pitch(AAA) and Majors divisions are scheduled rain or shine. 

Make-up evaluations are scheduled for the evening of Tuesday, February 13th. 

Due to limited space during the makeup session, we ask that all players show up for their scheduled time slot on Saturday the 10th if possible.

*There are NO evaluations for Teeball, Quickball or the Coach Pitch (A) Baseball and Softball divisions

*Evaluations for Upper Division Baseball and Upper Division Softball  - date and time TBD 


Location:  

Evaluations will be held at the Gig Harbor High School Turf Fields: 5101 Rosedale St NW, Gig Harbor. 

There will only be one available entrance for check-in, near the Main Gate to the fields at GHHS. You will not be able to access the fields from the entrance by Pioneer Elementary, players must check in and enter the fields via the Main Gate. Recommended parking is at either the high school or Discovery Elementary.


Evaluation Day Protocols:

  • No player, coach, volunteer or parent that is sick should attend Evaluations. Please stay home regardless of what is causing your illness.
  • All Parents must CHECK IN with their child 15 minutes prior to their evaluations session! 
  • All players should bring their own equipment - a glove, bat, helmet, water bottle (nothing but water allowed on the field) and comfortable layered clothing. Catchers, bring your gear!
  • Evaluations will be held rain or shine, and it can get windy at the turf fields, so please have your player dress weather appropriately. 
  • Only GHLL Players, Coaches, Board Members and Evaluation Volunteers are allowed on the field - we will have volunteers available to help players who have questions about where to go or what to do. If you need to assist your child to the entrance gate, that is ok but then please exit the field area immediately.
  • You are welcome to stay and observe evaluations, but please do so along the perimeter fence. Please do not congregate around the check in areas or by the entrance gates.
  • This year, the Pink Gorilla Espresso Truck will be at Evaluations on Saturday the 10th, and they will have coffees, smoothies, drinks and food available for purchase throughout the day. REMINDER - No food or drink is allowed on the turf fields, only water. Any food or drinks purchased must be consumed outside the fields. 
  • The used tee ball, baseball and softball gear we collected will be on sale during Player Evaluations from 8:00am until 2:00pm. We will be taking cash or checks only.

Saturday, February 10th


BASEBALL - Coach/Player Pitch (AA), Player Pitch (AAA), & Majors

ALL DIVISIONS WILL BE EVALUATED DURING EVERY TIME SLOT. IF YOU CANNOT ATTEND DURING YOUR ASSIGNED TIME SLOT (FIRST LETTER OF YOUR LAST NAME), PLEASE ATTEND AN ALTERNATE TIME SLOT. 

  • Last Name A - F   8:15am - 10:00am 
  • Last Name G - L  9:45am - 11:30am
  • Last Name M - R  12:15pm - 2:00pm
  • Last Name S - Z   1:45pm - 3:30 pm


GIRLS SOFTBALL - Coach/Player Pitch (AA), Player Pitch (AAA), & Majors

  • Coach/Player Pitch (AA): 8:30am – 10:30am - *pitchers and catchers stay 11:15am
  • Player Pitch (AAA): 12:30pm-2:30pm - *pitchers and catchers stay until 3:15pm
  • Majors: 2:30-3:15pm - *pitchers and catchers stay until 4:00pm


Tuesday February 13th (Make-Ups):


Baseball - Coach/Player Pitch (AA), Player Pitch (AAA), & Majors

  • Coach/Player Pitch (AA): 6:00pm - 7:00pm
  • Player Pitch (AAA) & Majors: 7:00pm - 8:00pm


Girls Softball - Coach/Player Pitch (AA), Player Pitch (AAA), & Majors

  • Coach/Player Pitch (AA): 6:00pm – 7:00pm 
  • Player Pitch (AAA) & Majors: 7:00pm – 8:00pm


Notes:


All players must attend Player Evaluations to be eligible to be drafted to any team. If any player does not attend player evaluations, that player shall not be eligible for the standard draft and will instead become part of the “hat pick” round of the draft. 


Any player who does not attend Player Evaluations also forfeits the ability to be “drafted up” to a higher division. Managers’ and coaches’ children, as well as brother and sister option players, are required to go through evaluations just like any other player.


Any player who does not attend Player Evaluations may not be eligible for the All Stars team. 


All Registration fees must be paid in full for a player to be able to participate in Evaluations.
